Hiya, Sorry i've not updated for awhile - Just lazy I guess. Well it's been an interesting couple of month's for me, no more jaunt's to london or manchester but i've not been sitting at home all day (well not all the time). I've had a couple of trip's to cambridge dressed - shopping (of course!) and I went to see a film - I even caught the bus dressed which is another first for me. Both of these little trips were enjoyable, even though the movie was a little lame, going to the cinema dressed for the first time sort of made up for it. I really did enjoy my first real shopping trip dressed though - even if I did get a few funny looks around town from some people - clearly not as passable as I'd hoped but at least no one shouted "It's a bloke" at me. The sales assistant's were friendly, if a little bemused, although one offered me the use of a communal Fitting room, complete with two other young ladies getting changed - exercising the better part of valour - and not wanting to scare the two girls in the Fitting room at the time- I trooped off to find somewhere a little more private!
I do seem to be having a bit of a hard time whilst shopping in male mode at the moment though - it's not finding thing's that i like or will fit or anything like that but rather the fact that approximatley 50 percent of the people i see remind me of what I'm not - a girl (for anyone whose not paying attention) - it's not a problem when I am out as Katie. In male mode however it can bring me almost to tear's, just seeing the thing I most want to be, but am not. More for me to ponder on I guess.
Aside from that i've had multiple trip's to the town and gown, which is (sadly) going to be closed down and converted in to a restaraunt fairly soon - fortunatley the landlord (rodger) has been offered his choice of premises to replace it by the brewery. In the meantime i'm getting there as often as possible, and as always trying to make more friend's, and i have had a little luck over the last few months too. Anyway that's all for now i'll try to update a little more regular though. |

Hi Again.... what was it I said about updating more regularly? I should never say such things, I know it will put the kiss of death on any further updates.
Anyway, A lot has happened since I last posted an update here, other than pictures. I've met lots of new people, made new friends, although sadly a few of the older ones have dissappeared, Ocupational Hazard when dealing with T*people that. I've had quite a few outings as well, mostly just around Cambridge shopping, as well as my weekly trip to my new local Pub, the Bird in Hand. I've discovered a Club in Milton Keynes called Pink Punters which is a really good TG friendly venue I've only been a few times but it has always been a good night out. I also visited Club Ballares In Cambridge city center with a couple of friends, It is a straight club but i had no problems from anybody and spent most of the night dancing, Talking to the real girls and getting chatted up by some of the straight men..... clearly the drinks are not watered down at this club :) I let them down gently :P
Its not all been good fun though, about halfway through 2004 I got made redundant from my job, along with most of the rest of the people working there. This hit me rather badly, even though it had been coming for awhile and not having a job truly sucks - Its sooo boring and never having much money is not great either, thanks to my family and friends for keeping me smiling, hopefully 2005 will be better. |
